Beware of Malicious Android App, IRCTC Warns

An alarming report has surfaced regarding the circulation of a malicious Android application that is being hosted on a phishing website (https://irctc.creditmobile.site) . The app, named irctcconnect.apk, is reportedly being spread across instant messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram.

Users are being targeted with mass phishing messages, impersonating IRCTC officials, and are being urged to download the app.

However, this app is a dangerous APK file that can infect the user’s mobile device. As a result, IRCTC has issued a warning to its customers, urging them not to download the app or click on any suspicious links.

The aim of these fraudsters is to trick unsuspecting victims into revealing their sensitive net banking credentials, posing a severe threat to the security of their personal and financial information.

It is critical to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. Stay safe and protect yourself from potential harm.

In view of this, you are advised that please do not install this application and keep yourself safe from such fraudsters. Always download IRCTC’s authorized ‘IRCTC Rail Connect’ mobile app from Google Play Store or Apple Store.

Please note that IRCTC do not call its users/customers for their PIN, OTP, Password, Credit/Debit Card Details, Net Banking password or UPI details.
